CNC MACHINING

Polar Design & Engineering’s in-house CNC mill machine can be utilised for tooling, parts, fixtures and fittings. Machining can either be a stand alone service or be combined with the processing of composite parts for inserts and/or detailed precision features such as slots, holes, threads or other requirements.

Our skilled team has extensive knowledge of the correct speeds, feeds and tools to use for the material being machined. Following machining a full inspection is undertaken to verify dimensional accuracy.

OUR MACHINING CAPABILITIES

The Haas TM-3P is used by Polar Design & Engineering on a daily basis for both customer specific order fulfilment alongside a host of internal fabrication requirements. Coupled with the CNC mill is a manual lathe which enables Polar to swiftly tackle any turning requirements simultaneously

What is CNC machining?

CNC stands for ‘computer numerical control’. CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process which uses pre-programmed, computerised controls with machining tools to remove layers of material, to produce custom parts. What materials can be machined at Polar?

A variety of materials can be processed including glass and carbon fibre, aluminium and epoxy tooling board. 3D CAD models are supplied from Engineering to the CNC department where NC programs are written to ensure that your products are both accurate and consistent.
